My name is Emilia and I’m a 19-year-old EVS volunteer from Germany. I’m doing my EVS with Momentum World and I work and live in Keswick, at the heart of the beautiful Lake District. So, not only do I get to live in this stunning place, but I also get to work with a great organisation which is dedicated to international partnerships and non-formal education.

I’ve been here in the UK for about three months and during this time I’ve had the chance to be part of some amazing international projects. The most recent one was EVS & Beyond at Glaramara Hotel near Keswick. It’s a week-long project where Momentum World and partner organisations from all over Europe meet to work together and come up with project ideas for the upcoming year. Not only do they do that, they also bring young people from their organisations, who have been involved in Erasmus+ projects to experience international work as well. The young people, including me, were the media team. We were responsible for the documentation of the week across many media outlets. I was on the website team and although I knew nothing about creating a website, and with a lot of help, we managed to create a presentable website in two days time.

Apart from being very productive and enjoying working with this enthusiastic group, we had some pretty good times during our social time as well. Turns out we had some real comedians in our group and it was always fun to hang out with everyone.

All in all, it was another great project and I come out of it feeling positive and inspired about creating an open and compassionate Europe.
